A sloping Colchester garden needed a usable, level patio next to the house. We cut the area in, built a retaining edge and steps down to the lawn, and laid Indian sandstone across the new terrace.
What we did
- Excavated the terrace into the slope and removed the spoil
- Laid a compacted Type 1 sub-base and full mortar beds
- Laid Indian sandstone in a random pattern with a 1:60 fall to a new channel drain
- Built two bullnose sandstone steps to the lawn
- Sealed and jointed with a resin compound
